Avago Technologies of San Jose, CA recently provided one graduate fellowship and $7500 fund to support the Baskin School's IEEE chapter student organization. This support highlights the growth of this important corporate partnership between Avago and the Baskin School. Waguih Ishak, Avago CTO and Dean's Advisory Council member, arranged for one $30K graduate fellowship supporting the research of Prof. Ken Pedrotti in the area of optical packaging, within the Department of Electrical Engineering. Earlier this year, Mr. Ishak arranged for the creation of the Avago Student Organization Fund, providing annual support to expand the activities and impact of the Baskin School's student organizations, including IEEE, SWE, Honor's Society, and others. These student leaders are submitting proposals for attracting key speakers to campus, equipment for the student-led undergrad hardware lab, and many other projects and activities they couldn't have dreamed of without Avago's support. .

Avago Technologies provides an extensive range of analog, mixed-signal and optoelectronic components and subsystems to tens of thousands of manufacturers around the world. The company's products serve four end markets: industrial and automotive, wired networking, wireless communications, and computer peripherals.
