Thursday, November 16, 2006

On November 7 the Coordinating Council for Graduate Affairs (CCGA), the University of California (UC) system-wide body for oversight of graduate studies, unanimously approved the proposal for graduate degrees in Statistics and Stochastic Modeling (SSM) put forward by the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics.

The UC Office of the President has yet to make the official announcement, but preparations can now begin for advancements to candidacy under the SSM program.

Congratulations to Dr. David Draper, head of the AMS department, and to all of his now fully official graduate students!
