SANTA CRUZ -- Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, known as the "engineer of engineers," shared his formula for success with this year's graduating class of engineering majors at UC Santa Cruz on Sunday. "A good engineer will use a lot of trial and error," the keynote speaker said. On his way to establishing a name for himself in the engineering world, he overcame his share of obstacles, including figuring out exactly what a computer was. This feat alone, he said, took him 10 years. He landed a job at Hewlett-Packard, where he thrived by following a set of simple guidelines: getting along with his co-workers, being careful with criticism, always knowing what's important to him, having a willingness to teach others, knowing the value of his work and, above all, having fun.
