Baskin Engineering Council on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Baskin Engineering Council on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (BE-CDEI) was formed to help build a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment for students, faculty, and staff — an environment as diverse as the population it serves. The BE-CDEI will advise on best approaches to attract and retain a diverse staff, faculty, and student body; collect data and develop assessment tools in order to understand and measure the issues and efforts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion; stay abreast of campus-wide diversity initiatives and events; and seek new opportunities for collaboration to advance these important principles.

BE-CDEI Charge

The charge of the BE-CDEI is to review the history and practices of the school and to advise the Office of the Dean on approaches to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion for our students, faculty, and staff.

BE-CDEI Bylaws

The bylaws specify the governance, membership, meeting frequency, and voting rights of the Council.

The BE-CDEI roster includes faculty from each of the six academic departments and staff whose expertise and job responsibilities align with the goals of the Council.

Baskin Engineering Programs

Baskin Engineering programs aim to increase representation and participation of underrepresented populations and create a rich culture of equity and inclusivity in our classrooms, labs, research teams, places of work, and common spaces.

Council Resources

The Council relies on existing resources, and creates new resources, to guide and inform its activities. Here you will find documents and other assets relevant to the work of the Council.
