Pillowy powder.
Soft snow, soundless smooth.
Gentle arc, curve of hips,
Flex of knee.
Slow spring unwinding,
Winding, unwinding, winding.

On wind whipped summit, light and shadow,
Skirting eerie steep and beckoning chute,
Through wooded glade, gliding tree to tree.

Precipice, drop, slough,
Flash of pole and ski,
Flying white,
Tumbling blind,
Suddenly resting...
