I am currently a student at University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) in pursuit of a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Peyman Milanfar. I obtained a M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Techonology, Bombay (IITB) in 2006 and my B.Tech in Information Technology from the University of Kalyani (from B.P.Poddar Institute of Management and Technology) in 2003.
I grew up in the city of Calcutta, now renamed Kolkata where I completed my schooling from St. Xavier's Collegiate School in 1997 and later St. Xavier's College till 1999.
My research interests lie in the domain of Image Processing, specifically but not limited to Super-resolution, inpainting, denoising and deblurring. I also have considerable interest in the domains of Computer Vision and Computer Graphics.
My spare time is best spent on the badminton court or the football (soccer) field. I am currently trying my hand at racquetball too. I am one of the few graduate students who have a place in the UCSC Badminton team, at present. Among other interests, I enjoy listening to music (only all the time), movies (specially comedy) and reading books (fiction or biographies). Currently I am involved with "Genius - The Life and Science of Richard Feynman".
