CE100 Lab Resources

Your TA: Alana Muldoon (newmoon@ucsc.edu)

Lab Sections:

You do not have to come to your lab sections, but I must check you off each week. Your lab grade is mostly dependent on you being able to show me that you know what you're doing by showing me a working board and being able to explian what you did.

There are currently only 17 altera boards in the lab, which means that if you come to a section you are not signed up for, you may not get an altera board to work with. Feel free to come to lab whenever you have time to work. The times to AVOID lab are T 2-4 and W 3:30-5:30, otherwise I believe the lab is ours.

GET A KEYCODE TO BE104 -- Facilities is now located on the third floor of Baskin, third or fourth door on the right I think, if you go up the stairs in front of Baskin and through the double doors. They are only open on weekdays from 1-3. As long as you are enrolled in the class you shouldn't have a problem getting a code.

I highly advise that you get yourself a lab notebook that you can keep all of your notes in. I don't mind if it's just a spiral notebook, as long as you have something. It will make it much easier for you to go back and be able to see what you were doing, and for me to understand what you are trying to do when you get stuck!

There are two parts to each lab, the lab itself and a well-written, typed lab report turned in to your TA. You must check off your lab to the TA on or before your last lab section that week for full credit. If you can not get your lab checked off within a week of your lab due date you will fail that lab. Your lab report will generally be due the same week as your lab on Friday at midnight. You can only recieve extra credit for turning in a lab early if you turn in your lab report on time.
