IFR enroute map - folded to area, in plastic protector 8. IFR IAP plates - in protectors, with MAP headings 9. fuel - maximum consistent with safety 10. C.G. - loaded forward for stability, calculated BEFORE START 11. lifejackets/pyro - for overwater flight 12. VOR check - within 30 days, note error 13. altitude bug - on altimeter, spit on back 14. GPS nav head and annunciators - covered 12. flight bag - belted in back seat 16. small swivel flashlight - clipped to visor 17. extra pen and pencil - clipped to kneeboard 18. clearance - obtained on handheld, then handheld stowed TAXI AND RUNUP 19. shoulder strap - clip is secure 20. mag compass - shows known heading, full of fluid, swings 21. DG - reset for taxi, knob is free 22. audio panel - check if speaker works, high sensitivity 23. DG bug - set for runway heading 24. nav 1 - set for outbound guidance, if available 25. nav 2 - set for "next" guidance 26. pitot heat - on for entire flight 27. pilot and passenger door - closed and locked 28. mag compass - matches runway heading POST FLIGHT 29. flashlight - remove from visor, stowed 30. altitude bug - remove from altimeter, stowed 31. lifejackets/pyro - remove 32. VOR check - record if done 33. flight bag - removed from airplane
