Research Group and Collaborators:
I have worked extensively with several undergraduate and graduate students
and collaborators from several disciplines including
Computer Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Music, Astronomy, Physics,
Criminal Justice, Environmental Sciences and Bioinformatics.
I especially enjoy working with undergraduate students. Several undergraduate
students have co-authored papers with me. Here is the record.
I am always looking for motivated undergraduate students to work with
me. You need to know graphics and user interface programming using C, OpenGL,
and XForms (or Fltk). The areas I am currently interested are Geographic
Visualization, Scientific Visualization, Uncertainty Visualization, and
Multi-Modal (using audio/music, haptics/skin sensation/force feedback)
Visualization.

Graduate Students
Graduate students who have worked with me have done summer internships
or taken up jobs
in various companies including INRIA (France), IBM Almaden Research Center,
NASA Ames Research Center, Sarnoff Corporation, Microsoft, Yahoo,
Nvidia, Apple Computer, USGS (United States Geological Survey),
Micron Technology, SGI, Raytheon Corporation, AMD,
Sumitomo Electronics, Keyhole (Geospatial Visualization) and
several startup companies including Digital Square, Live Picture,

Those inclined to academic careers are teaching at the California State
University (Chico, California), Cabrillo Community College (Aptos, California),
and Gavilan College
(Gilroy, California).
Yet, those with independent spirits have become entreprenuers and free
lance writers.
