About me

Back

It's a long road from total dork to computer scientist. After High School, I had no idea what to do with myself so sort of stumbled around for a few years until landing a job at Stanford University's Center for Integrated Systems. I gained a lot about the art and science of semiconductor fabrication and research. That job lasted 12 years and allowed me the freedom to spent countless hours exploring the Sierras on foot and to spend far too much time and money on racing my Mustang. Finally though, it became apparent that I needed to get more education if I was going to really find my place in the world.

That path led me to UC Santa Cruz. I had had a notion that I wanted to study Economics when I first arrived but quickly switched to Information Systems Management (ISM). Somehow, that seemed a good compromise between my Geeky side and more serious pursuits. It turned out that I could not have been more wrong. The only classes I found intriguing were the technical ones. While I am quite proud of having graduated with honors in ISM, I am anxious to put the strange world of buisness with a technical flavor behind me. Without a doubt, I have found my place studying computer science.

Maybe someday I will really be out standing in my field.
