Driving Directions to UCSC and Charlie McDowell's office

Take 17 south to Santa Cruz. Take 1 north towards Halfmoon Bay. At the second traffic light after leaving 17 make a gentle right turn staying on highway 1 which is called Mission street at this point. At the 3rd traffic light after that (5th overall), just past a McDonalds on the left you should be at Bay street. Turn right on Bay. This leads directly to the main campus entrance.

If you will be on campus more than 2 hours, stop at the kiosk and purchase a parking permit.

From the main entrance (at the top of Bay Street) continue straight up the hill which will eventually enter the trees and curve around sharply to the left. At the third stop sign if you look to the right you should see a glass sideded building, that is Engineering 2. If you will be parking at a meter you can turn right at the stop sign and try to find a space in the small metered lot there between E2 and Communications.

If you have a permit (or the meters are all full), continue on through the stop sign and make a left a the next stop sign. Then left again into the parking structure. It contains both a form of metered parking and permit parking.

My office is 349B Engineering 2 (not Baskin Engineering which is the older concrete sided building in the front of E2).
