What the Parser Can't Do

In comparison to Anders Krogh's parser, we did not compare favorably. Some of the problems with our parser include:

Adjacent
The parser cannot find adjacent or overlapping genes.
Length
The parser only finds regions which are integer lengths of codons
False +
The parser finds too many false positives.
Large
Very large contigs cannot be parsed.
Learning
The parser was never successful in learning optimal weights for multiple sensors; instead we found weights that worked well by hand.
Eucaryotes
The parser cannot be used to parse DNA into more than two types of regions.
