Hello Sisterdot,
The files in the directory that you are looking at contains *compressed*
phastCons scores for multiple alignments of 9 vertebrate genomes to the mouse
genome. For a description of the phastCons file format, see:
http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/phastCons.html
Because the scores are compressed, they will not exactly match the display;
some precision has been lost. In the database table 'phastCons10Scores' these
values are compressed to single bytes in a compression scheme and expanded upon
display in the browser.
