Hello Kevin,

When you search for the gene F8 on the chimp browser, it shows up on the
'Chimp and Human RefSeq Genes' track:

Chimp and Human RefSeq Genes
F8 at chrX:154157506-154185032 - (NM_019863) coagulation factor VIII
isoform b precursor
F8 at chrX:154157506-154339733 - (NM_000132) coagulation factor VIII
isoform a precursor

If you click further into the details of this refGene, you can see that
this RefSeq Gene is from the organism: Homo sapiens.

 From the description:
"The RefSeq track shows known chimpanzee and human protein-coding genes
taken from the NCBI mRNA reference sequences collection (RefSeq)".

However, you could get the sequence for this refGene by clicking on the
link "Genomic Sequence from assembly' from the details page here:
http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgc?&o=154157505&t=154339733&g=refGene&i=NM_000132&c=chrX&l=154157505&r=154185032&db=panTro2

I hope that this helps. If this does not answer you question, please
don't hesitate to write back to the list.

Regards,
