Hi Falko,

We are in the process of releasing the horse (equCab1) genome.
The files you saw are downloadable files we put out as part 
of the preparation of our coming public equCab1 release.

In the mean time, you can have a preview of the horse 
genome browser at our internal test server at:

I have come across the page http://hgdownload.cse.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/ 
equCab1/bigZips/  with some interest.
The description provides info on all the genome files, but from the  
names such as est, mrna or refmrna, I conclude there are other  
information available as well. Could you provide information what  
that is, who collated or alike.
