To whom it may concern,
In order to make the UCSC browser a more interactive and enjoyable
experience, I was wondering if you could obtain a licence from Nintendo
Entertainment Systems and add characters such as Super Mario, Goomba, and in
particular, Bowser to your current browser. With your UCSC Browser updated
to become the ultimate genome database re-dubbed as UCSC Bowser (R), the
users around the globe would be able to interact more intimately with the
genome. For example, with Mario being the lead character, one would hop
across repeated elements, on to mRNA tracks, and hitting question mark boxes
in unknown, unchartted areas of the genome, which may open up unannoated
genes and putative coding regions. In addition, the uncharted regions,
being mysterious and unannotated, with gaps and other mishaps, which may put
Mario in danger of falling through the cracks of ACG's and T's, you could
add the 'bad level music', you know, doo doo doo doo. Doo doo doo. DOO DOO
DOO. Dup, dup dup, DO DO, dup do, DO DO. (you get the picture). I encourage
you to keep an open mind when thinking of new ways to attract and expand
your current database projects. So please view the attached demonstration
that ingeniously incorporates the two worlds of genetics and classic video
gaming into one.
Respectfully yours,
Neal and Ashley
