Hi again Brad:
I looked at Il12B in our browser. It is located in the region
chr5:158,674,000-158,691,000. I zoomed in to what I thought might be the
promoter region at chr5:158,685,000-158,697,000. I filtered the SNPs (126)
track to show only insertions and deletions.
I am wondering whether rs17860508 might be the in-del you are looking for.
The reference sequence has TTAGAG (the reverse complement of the allele you
mention) at this location. The dbSNP details page at
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/SNP/snp_ref.cgi?type=rs&rs=rs17860508
also reports a GC allele.
I hope our tools can help you, this is a tricky thing to work out.
Let us know if you have further questions.
