There is cross-reference table, kgXref, which
has kgId and geneSymbol columns you can use.
The Table Browser should enable you to download a complete list.

Subject: [Genome] knownGene to Gene name (Gene Symbol)
Dear UCSC team,
I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I spent two days trying
figure this out -unsuccessfully.
Is there an easy way to retrieve the gene names (e.g. ETV1) from the
known gene annotations (X87175), or refSeq annotations (NM_004956)?
I found the refLink table, but I think that really only works the other
way around.
Thanks you very much for your help.
Best regards
Mathias
