[Genome] stability of accession numbers

Hi, I would like to confirm whether UCSC accession numbers like 
uc004fdq.1 are stable.
For example, table kgAlias links UCSC accessions wih gene symbols. I 
believe the .1 is the version that may change and the rest of the 
accession is stable. Is this correct?
