[Genome] getting known gene description

Hi my friends,

 

I'm looking for a table that contains certain descriptive gene information,
including known gene symbol (such as p53) and gene description (such as
tumor suppressor). The knownGene tables for human and mouse contain name and
protein ID and I'm sure these will link me to the descriptive info, but I
simply can't figure out how to do it in bulk.
