[Genome] Question about carboxylesterase 4-like (CES4) gene

Hello, So Yamada,

I'm not seeing CES4 in the Known Genes collection for either the May 2004
(hg17) or the Mar 2006 (hg18) assemblies. I do see an annotation in the
Acembly track on hg17 by that name. When I take DNA from the ends of
this gene model and blat it against hg18, I am taken to the following
coordinates:

  chr16:54,351,953-54,385,571

which is the location of the CES4 acembly gene models. We will look into
why the location does not show up in the hg18 assembly when CES4 is entered
into the Position/Search box. You may have uncovered a problem with
our search algorithm.

If this is not the gene model you are are interested in, please
contact us again.

best wishes,
