[Genome] question

Dear,

I would like to extract the promotor regions from a gene list with 
unique identifiers (f.i. ensembl transcript id's) that are conserved 
among species, hereby maintaining the same identifier for each set of 
conserved sequences.
Could you tell me the best way to tackle this problem?
