Biography

Dr. Manduchi obtained his "Dottorato di ricerca" in Electrical Engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, in 1993. He held professional positions at Apple Computer, Inc., and at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He joined the Department of Computer Engineering at UC Santa Cruz in 2001. His research has been funded by DARPA, NASA, NSF and NIH.

Research Areas

Computer vision and sensor processing, with application to assistive technology for the visually impaired.
