In summer 2012, undergraduates Naomi Kitzis (Fort Hays State University) and Mike Ridgeway (San Jose State University) worked with graduate student Ji Ma and Prof. Jacob Rosen on "Developing Virtual Reality Games for Use in Physical Therapy." The UCSC SURF-IT summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) is directed by Prof. Matthew Guthaus and works with 10-12 undergraduate researchers each summer.
