Recorded Lectures:

These lectures have been recorded using University of Washington’s Windows Media Gateway for Microsoft ConferenceXP.

To listen to the lectures you need high speed internet access.  If you use dial-up it will not work.  They should work with
Windows Media Player.  The file type is “.wmv”.  You may not be able to use an Apple computer to play the files, we don’t know.

Lecture 2, Part 1 - Professor Mantey (10-8-03) (The video did not work at the start of this recording, but the audio is there.)

Lecture 2, Part 1 - Professor Mantey (10-8-03, audio failed)  (Unfortunately, now the video is working, but the audio isn’t.)

Lecture 3, Larry Schork - A CIO's Perspective on Information Technology (10-15-03)

Lecture 4, Professor Jim Whitehead - Software Development and Management Processes (10-22-03)

Lecture 5, Dave Nielsen, VP Sales, NW Region- Corio and the Application Service Provider Marketplace (10-29-03)

(We had some problems with the video and audio inputs today.  There is a break in the discussion right at the beginning,

where the video and audio froze for about 30 seconds, then there is another break at about 2:22 to 2:24, when the recording

process had to be stopped and restarted.)

Lecture 6, Professor Nirvikar Singh - The Innovator's Dilemma Revisited (11-05-03)

Lecture 7, Eric Ornas - High-Tech Business Development: Building Success through Relationships (11-12-03)

(We had a problem with capturing the Power Point Slides.  I tried to show what slide the speaker was on during the recording so the viewer might be able to look at the original slide set with the presentation.)

Lecture 8, David Matheson - Technology Project and Portfolio Simulation (11-19-03)
(Recoding was stopped after the game started.  There was too much noise to continue.)

Lecture 9, Janaki Akella - Startegic Management of Information Technology (11-26-03)

(Due to copyright issues, the slides from this presentation were not recorded.)

The recording of these lectures is part of an experiment in distance learning education.  We are testing applications that may ultimately be used to provide additional access to classes.  Please forgive the production work, the operator is just learning what works and what doesn’t.

If you notice something is not working, please send a note to Liz (ewatt@ucsc.edu).  Thanks!
