Software Inspection Data Sheet

At the start of your software inspection meeting, you will record the following information:

• project name
• date materials were handed out for review
• what materials were distributed
• preparation times for all inspection participants
• when the inspection meeting is being held, and for how long
• the role(s) assumed by each participant

Use the software inspection data sheet to record this information.

Software Inspection Defect Report

During the inspection, you will uncover defects in the item under review. For each defect, you will record:

• location of the defect (line #, object/file/module)
• description of the defect

Since some time may elapse between the inspection meeting and correction of identified defects, the location and descripton information needs to be sufficient to allow a team member to locate and understand a defect several days after the inspection.

Use the software inspection defect report form to record defect information.
