Modified Homework text for HW #5:
You've now been at your job for twelve weeks, taking a software engineering class in your spare time. Your boss is pleased with the work you have been doing on the GUI for the current product, but today the boss walked into your cubicle with a worried expression. "I’ve just got off the phone with a major customer," your boss says. "The customer told me that the quality of our last release stinks. The product keeps crashing and the fixes we sent have bugs too! I reassured him that quality is much improved in the new release, but between you and me, I have no idea how we can improve it."
Pointing his finger at you, your boss continues. "Effective immediately I am reassigning you to figure out how we can improve the quality of the release. Money and time are tight, so don’t give me ideas that cost a fortune or blow our schedule. Just give me something that will prevent phone calls like this from angry customers."
What do you do? (Quitting is not an option - you love the espresso machine). Use your knowledge of software quality assurance to guide you.
