CMPS 101, Winter 2002
Algorithms and Abstract Data Types
Policies
- Grading scale:
- Quizzes and homeworks (1 per week) = 1/3 of grade
- programming assignments (2 in C, 2 in Java) = 1/3 of grade
- final exam = 1/3 of grade
Also, you must pass each component (with a C or above) to pass
the class as a whole.
The grade cutoffs are:
- 90 - 100 A
- 80 - 90 B
- 65 - 80 C
- 50 - 65 D
I will use extra credit work for tiebreaks between the boundaries
of these grades, for good mention in the narrative evaluation,
and for honors.
- Makeup work:
If you have to miss a quiz for a good excuse (approved by me
in advance), I may offer a make-up quiz, which will be designed
to be slightly harder than the regular quiz. There will be no
make-up for the final exam.
- Registering for a letter grade:
The department of your major may require you to
register for a letter grade. It is your responsibility to
check the current policies and register for a letter grade
if required.
