Lecture: Tues-Thurs, 4:00-5:45 pm, Earth & Marine Sciences 206
Labs use Macintoshes.
Some sections are Mon-Wed, some are Tues-Thurs, and some
are double labs on Fridays.
There are a total of 15 sections.

At the midterm and final exams, you will be required
to have a blank "ParSCORE f-1712" form for turning in answers to
multiple-choice exam questions, and a number 2 lead pencil.
The forms are sold at the BayTree bookstore, and cost about 20 cents each.

There is a second Pascal lab, called lab #20, to be completed
the last week of classes. The lab is available on the web
only.
On Thurs. Oct. 29, the first half of the lecture will
be a guest lecture from Ann Hubble of the Science Library.
She will explain Melvyl, CruzCat, and online library databases.
The term paper may be on any subject of your choosing.
You will be graded on your use of the skills acquired in
this class, including:
- appropriate use of fonts
- automatically generated table of contents
- footnotes
- spell-checking
- web-based research
- pasted graphics
- overall format

The final exam will cover the entire course, with emphasis
on material after the midterm. This includes the entire
textbook (except for chap. 14-15),
plus material from the class films. One sheet
of notes will be allowed, as in the midterm exam.
