Last week's introductory lecture to robotics by Prof. Elkaim is now available on our website. Look under the laboratory menu link for Elkaim Robotic Lecture. This will take you to a folder containing both the powerpoint and audio file recording during the lecture.

The work we started last week has been summarized in "Lab-1". Content is based on our experiences working with all of you last week. We will continue this lab today and begin Lab-2 which will either be posted or handed out in class today.

Also, please look at two new links, Datasheets and Laboratory Notes & Papers.

Datasheets opens a folder containing actual datasheets for the chips being used in our lab. In particular, you can use these to find how a particular chip is pinned out as well as investigate more advanced topic dealing with electrical characteristics. To make it easy, we've indicated in each chip's filename what it does. For example the 74LS04, used with the LED logic indicator, contains six inverters. So we named it "74LS04(Inverter).pdf" to remind you of whats inside.

Laboratory Notes & Papers contains our lab assignments along with notes that may not have links from the menu bar (like the resistor color code for example).

We have replaced the traditional class newgroup with a new improved Web-based Class Forum, and invite all of you to take advantage of this new way to dialog about the class. You can get to it by clicking on the following link: CMPE-1 Forum which also duplicates the one found next to the Class Forum title above. Check it out!
