MSI (Modified Supplemental Instruction) Information
We are lucky to have MSI associated with this class. It provides peer guided interactive group learning sessions MSI sessions are offered each week. You may attend any MSI session at any time during the quarter without making a weekly commitment. However, students who attend MSI sessions regularly gain more academic knowledge than students who attend occasionally. MSI sessions are available on a first come first serve basis. In addition, Learning Support Services (LSS) offers tutoring that is available to all UCSC students. Generally students met in small groups (up to 4 people per group) lead by a tutor. Students are eligible for up to 1 hour of tutoring per week per course, and may sign-up for tutoring at https://eop-apps.ucsc.edu/OTSS/tutorsignup/ beginning October 6th. All of the tutors we hire are current UCSC students who have previously taken the course, have received a B or better, and have been recommended to be a tutor by a UCSC faculty member in the appropriate academic discipline. You must attend MSI first before you are eligible for small group tutoring.
