AMS 007 - Winter 2009

  • Announcements:

    • (6 Jan 2009) Instructor: David Draper (office BE 135); telephone 459--1295; email draper@ams.ucsc.edu (I'll do my best, but due to the volume of email I receive, I can't guarantee quick response to any message you send; please put AMS 7 student in the subject line of any email message to me).
    • (3 Feb 2009) WebCT has been up and running for AMS 7 for some time now -- you can get there through MyUCSC or by going directly to the WebCT portal (your login name and password are the same as the ones you use for UCSC email). You can use this site to check your grades in the class.
    • (24 Feb 2009) A reminder of the office hours in this class (these are either held at the office of the person giving the office hour (VB: Vaneet Batish; DD: David Draper; VP: Valerie Poynor; ZW: Ziwei Wang) or at the whiteboards on the first floor of Baskin): M 2.30-3.30pm (ZW; Baskin 146), Tu 10-11am (VP; Baskin 350C/D), Tu 12:30--1:30pm (ZW), W 10--11am (DD; Baskin 135), W 12:30--1:30pm (VP), Thu 9--10am (VB; Engineering 2 room 311), Th 4--5pm (DD), F 8:30--9:30am (VB).
    • (14 Mar 2009) A correction to the final exam: in problem 1(b) you only need to build the approximate 95% confidence interval for the population correlation; if you want to also build the exact interval (using the method detailed in the lecture notes, and summarized in the formula sheet, but not covered in class) and compare it with the approximate interval, you can do so for 5 extra credit points.
  • Course handouts other than those in the reader (or handed out before the reader was available):

  • Extra (handwritten) notes (from class; CD = Caitlin Doughty, DD = David Draper, AR = Amy Roget, MS = Maya Sertic)

  • Data files (in .jmp or .txt format) and scripts (in .jsl format) for the labs:

visits since creation on 6 Jan 2009.
