v Exams
o There will be four short exams that are
tentatively scheduled on 08/3/07, 08/10/07, 08/17/07, 08/24/07. Each of these will be approximately 45 minutes long,
and test the material covered since the previoius exam. The comprehensive final
will be in class on friday, 8/31/07 and will take the entire class time.
o There will be no make-up exams..
o Grading: Each short exam is worth 25 points, and the final exam is worth 100
points. The sum of your four short exam scores will be compared to your final
exam score. The higher of the two will count for 65% of your course grade and
the lower of the two will count for 35% of your course grade.
v Homework
o There will be regular homework assignments, which
will mostly consist of exercises from the textbook. Homework will not be
collected. The problems in the exams will be very similar to homework problems.
The solutions to the homework can be discussed in office hours.
