Courses Taken Elsewhere After Starting at UCSC
It is the intent of the Baskin School of Engineering that all degree requirements be completed either at UCSC or prior to first enrollment at UCSC. After you have become a UCSC student you must obtain preapproval prior to taking a class at another UC campus, with Education Abroad Program, or at a community college. Forms to request to take a course elsewhere are available for download, or may obtained from the Undergraduate Advising Office.
Articulation agreements do not apply to currently enrolled UCSC students. You must get preapproval before taking a class at another college or university even if the course has been articulated.
The School of Engineering does not require preapproval for SoE courses not required for SoE majors, such as topical or introductory courses.
Students who are not yet declared are encouraged to obtain preapproval as well, to ensure the course will be accepted for the major once they do declare.
For further information, please contact the School of Engineering Undergraduate Advising Office (225 Baskin Engineering) at (831) 459-5840 or .
