SOE Graduate Students: News and Announcements
- CMPS graduate students Tim Kaldewey and Anna Povzner have been recognized with the Best Student Paper Award given by the 14th IEEE Real Time and Embedded Technology and Applications Symposium (RTAS 2008) for their paper "Virtualizing Disk Performance" co-authored with Theodore Wong, Richard Golding, Scott Brandt, and Carlos Maltzahn. RTAS is one of the top two conferences in real-time systems and the award is given to the best paper at the conference (co-)authored by students.
- CMPS Ph.D. student Kenneth Hullett wins $1,000 and honorable mentions in the CITRIS Big Ideas contest for his Game-Based Disaster Emergency Response Training.
- CMPS graduate student Sarah K. Tyler receives prestigious National Science Foundation fellowship award for her work in Comp/IS/Eng- Artificial Intelligence. The fellowship includes $30,000 a year including $10,500 paid tuition each year for three years.
