Jim Kent's Web Page I'm a research scientist at UCSC. I work primarily on web tools to help understand the human genome. Before becoming a bioinformatician I got a PhD in biology working with with the Computational Biology Group. Before that I wrote computer art and animation programs. I live in Santa Cruz, CA and have two children, Mira and Tisa.
