Amyn Poonawala
PhD Candidate,
Computer Engineering Department
University of California, Santa Cruz
I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of California, Santa Cruz . I was born and brought up in (Aamchi) Mumbai, India, where I also finished my Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering (August 2001). Since then, I have been here in Santa Cruz , pursuing my graduate studies in Computer Engineering . I am currently working as a research assistant in the Multi-Dimensional Signal Processing (MDSP) group led by my advisor, Dr. Peyman Milanfar. I am interested in studying prewarping techniques for correcting the distortions arising in several real-world imaging systems. More specifically, I am interested in applications of prewarping to microlithography, nanolithography, and electronic visual prosthesis. I am also interested in geometric inverse problems in imaging, particularly shape from corrupted diameter, silhouettes, and support function measurements.
